Hello Scotty greetings from Switzerland .I wanted to ask you about my car which is an Audi A3 1.2 engine year 2012 manual and it has 116.000 Kilometers . Before It had a very little rattling noise and now it is louder ,Most likely i hear it when I accelerate, but once the car riches higher speed I can’t hear anymore the rattling noise .
whats your opinion
Can you make a YouTube video of the noise & post the link here?
Off in the rattling is valves rattling from either the timing chain being worn or a carbon dump engine that now has too much compression and needs cleaning up. Also cheaper fuel will do that as it pings from pre ignition
The CBZB engine suffers from the timing chain stretching sometimes even before 100,000 km, and it sounds like exactly what you have.
I’d recommend having it checked my a mechanic to see if that’s the timing chain, and taking immediate action. If the chain snaps this will total your engine…
