Hello 2017 Toyota auris 37k miles hybrid. Tried to open the bonnet/hood. Lever inside the cabin works fine to pop it open the first bit but then the lever under the hood itself moves but does not release the hood. Tried wiggling and tugging quite a bit too no effect.
Definitely doing it right because it's the same way I've opened it before. Think the mechanism might be gummed up or something.
Any advice?

spray some lube on it, and use a long screwdriver to push the latch out. If there's too much tension then you need to adjust the hood spacers.
