I have a 2011 Kia Sorento AWD with 200,000 miles on it. The four-wheel drive warning light stays off when driving normal. The four-wheel drive warning light comes on when I press the AWD lock button to use AWD without it enabling it automatically and I get stuck and my tires spin in the mud or snow. Eventually the car gets out of the mud or snow. When I press the AWD button to turn off AWD, the warning light stays on for a few minutes of regular driving on the main roads and then turns off. The AWD warning light does not come on when I press the AWD lock button to use AWD and I my tires don't spin in mud or snow. I have no codes on my code reader related to the AWD drive system. Is my AWD system working? Is there something wrong?
Well, the warning light should not come on when you push the Button. So if it does, there is a problem. With that kind of mileage. I'm amazed it still works at all. You would have to have a pro mechanic like me hook up his fancy scan to and do a bunch of analysis of that system. It could be as simple as a switch breaking down or as complex as all-wheel drive servos going out or computer systems starting to fail
