2003 Taurus OHV 55k miles
my battery light came on today and I went out to get a multimeter. Car was at 12.04V off and then was at 11.6V running and didn’t increase with throttle. After driving home battery Volts were at 11.06 with car off. I believe it wasn’t much higher if at all when on. How can I tell if it’s the alternator or if I’m having grounding issues? Any advice appreciated, thanks.

was at 11.6V running
this measurement needs to be taken right on the alternator terminals to eliminate other causes. If the voltage is under 13V then alternator is faulty.

Also forgot to mention that battery life shuts off momentarily when I get the car over 3k RPM
