A/C isn't blowing cold

2001 Buick Park Ave 123k miles automatic

Hey all. The A/C isn't blowing cold on my Buick anymore. I tried recharging it and the right side is blowing cooler, then I noticed this pipe freezing up as seen in the video below. Is this a blockage issue rather than a leak? The compressor is spinning.

What method did you use to recharge it?

@chucktobias Just added the arctic freeze 145a refrigerant from can into low pressure port

That's not really the right way to do it. I hope the stuff didn't contain sealer which can clog up your AC system. What are your high and low system pressures?

@chucktobias Ah too bad. Yes, it does have the sealer in it, it looks like. low system was 0 until I started charging it. And as seen in the video, that pipe gets icy when I turn the AC on. Not sure what's up. This AC stuff is a whole nother beast.

Yeah you have to be careful working on AC and while not rocket science it's different than most other wrenching - and it can be tough to keep AC working in a decades-old car. It's not a certain that the sealer will damage your system right away (though I've seen that happen). You might want to do some temperature diagnostics as in this video:

@chucktobias He even says it's not rocket science in the video haha. Thx a bunch, Chuck. I'll get back to you after a temp diagnostic.
