[Solved] "BAD Gasoline" does damage to transmission

Sir,  I was told, by a "certified mechanic", the reason for the failure of the Automatic Transmission in my 2012 Nissan Rogue is due to "BAD GASOLINE".  I've never heard this before.  Can you please advise?  Thank you!

Was this "certified tech" at the Nissan dealer by chance?

The wrong transmission fluid will ruin your transmission, along with plenty of other things.

Factoring in that fuel never enters or comes near the transmission (if it does, you have VERY. BIG. PROBLEMS.) I would say you got fed some horse manure.

First time user, my apologies for the left side (up/down arrows with numbers). I do believe that I selected "2" with NO clue what I'm doing. Anyway, the "certified tech." is not with Nissan. This individual is the sole owner of a local mechanic shop.

No worries. I would find yourself another shop though as he gave you bad information on this.

While granted I don't have experience with modern Nissan vehicles that's one of the nuttiest things I've heard in a while. Gasoline never touches the transmission. Nissan CVTs fail because they are poorly-designed and poorly-built garbage.

I would ask his manager to explain that statement to me.

And please post it here. Because this I gotta hear. I'll even have my popcorn ready.

I bought Toyota Auris at a Toyota certified dealership. 30 days after purchase I went there to complain about car pulling to a side and AC wasn't cold enough.
About AC the director, who owns that dealership, said it the dead battery could be the problem.
Yeah, and engine started without any problem and still does. @mod_man I haven't found the explanation for that 'phenomenon' yet 😂😆

Wow, that’s the first time I’ve ever heard that.  I would never go to them again.

Same here. And I've heard some crazy things over the decades. But bad gas killing a transmission...on any vehicle...would be a first. If they care to elaborate on how that's possible, I would LOVE to hear it.

First time user... What do the up/down arrows to the left of the page mean? Thanks for your patience.

Idk much about transmissions but for sure 1. Rogue transmission seaze to exist after 120k miles and 2. Bad gasoline??? What kind of bs is that.

The up down arrows means to upvote or downvote a comment. If you agree or like the response, click the up arrow. If you are absolutely appoled by the response and want to get it exiled to the bottom of the page, downvote it with the bottom arrow.

Kerem, Thank you! Yep, sure as the sunlight, I achieved a rookie mistake.
