I have a 2008 Lexus GX470 with about 165k Miles. For a long while it has had paint falling off of the car like crazy, it is the white color. Even though I continue to touch it up, when I go on 2-3k mile trips, it is falling off too fast, I am going to have to pay to get it painted, at least on the roof and hood. I see a service campaign for many other toyota and lexus white color cars, even the gx470 has it to fix the paint for some of the same year, but not mine. I have owned many toyotas, and my 98 4runner I sold just over a year ago had tons more miles and age, and the paint looked way better. I have contacted lexus to no avail, they say no recall or service campaign for mine. This is my first Lexus, and so far I find it sad that they won't own up to the faulty paint they put on these. Is there anything I can do to get Lexus to consider fixing this bad paint? Thanks so much, I love watching Scotty's youtube videos!

I have a similar story with my Volvo, the clear coat has just completely faded.
It’s kind of a common thing for luxury cars nowadays…
The odd thing with this issue, the paint looks great, but it just falls right off the metal. It seems there was an issue with the white paint, the adhesion was bad in some way. I could take a credit card and easily scrape it right off the car.
Yeah tell him Scotty says fix it Scotty kilmer they know who I am and if they don't send me an email with all the information I will shame them on YouTube
Thanks so much Scotty, I will give it a try!
Lexus refused without even looking at the paint. What email should I send the info to? Thanks!
