Ball joint replacement 2006 Silverado 1500

Scotty, I was greasing my ball joints when changing my brake fluid and noticed the boots were completely busted and spilling grease. I have 160,000 miles on my truck and it’s been great. I don’t notice anything wrong while driving but would you recommend changing them? Possibly the bearing as well since it would be disassembled?

thanks

The boot keeps grease in and abrasive dirt out. At 160,000 miles they are past due to be changed. 100,000 miles is about max for wheel bearings also. Cheaper to do predictive rather than breakdown maintenance.
