Hi,

I want to buy a Toyota Avensis

- 1.8 or 2.0l gasoline

- manual transmission

- no electronic parking brake

- all brakes with calipers

, i have seen a few cars in my city and they seem quite good.

Any tips or defects that might expect ? What year of manufacture is best ? (older than 2014).

Defects that i have found on internet:

- water condensationin headlights

- steering and brakes (rattling)

Owners of this car please comment 🙂

Thank you

Hi, I bought this car just one year ago. 1,8 Petrol, manual trans. Bought it with 15 000km only. Still like a new. From Toyota dealer. Now 25 000km no issue at all. I believe this is simple and good car. I will appreciate any intel from Scotty about this car too.

Hi,

I've bought a year ago a Toyota Avensis 2016 (1.8) with automatic transmission and electronic parking brake.

This model is the 3rd generation (T270) second facelift (see attached image).

So far, so good.

With manual transmission it would probably be more responsive.

I don't have problems with steering/brakes nor with the headlights (though i only have it for about a year, with about 60,000 km/37,000 miles).

I enjoy driving it every day, about a 100km or 62 miles (Avensis = a Corolla with a touch of Camry).

Would recommend.

I would love if Scotty would do a little clip about this car

Whoever wishes Scotty makes a video about Avensis, has two options: or you invite him to Europe or bring him your car from there.

In Europe Avensis was discontinued and replaced with Camry. Like Auris with Corolla hatchback.
