If a car is burning oil, it’s usually a major fix in terms of costs. What are some value bandaids to get the most life of the engine?

If it turns out the engine needs to be rebuilt or replaced and don’t have the budget for that, then I would just keep adding oil.
Simple. I gather the engine doesn’t really break with oil consumption. It just consumes oil?
Catalytic converter, spark plugs, O2 sensors can eventually get damaged.

Keep adding oil. Check your oil level at every fill up.
