Hello everyone. What's everyone's reviews on Bars Leak Permanent Head Gasket Fix? My uncle owns a 2002 Honda Civic EX has a blown Head Gasket and isn't willing to pay alot to have it replaced. HE thought about buying the Bars Leak Permanent Head Gasket Fix and is wondering if its legit or not?

Very hit or miss (mostly miss) but might work for a little while. If it's either try that or junk the car there's nothing to lose by trying it. Follow instructions exactly for the best chance. It may also clog up the radiator and heater core at no additional charge.

Bet. The one he's getting is the one in a box that's reinforced with Carbon Fiber

Past experience trying that type of sealer it clogged the thermostat and radiator just about solid and the car never really ran again.. a lot of those sealers tell you to remove the thermostat before using it

Oh gawwd. Ye I sure hope that doesn't happen with his car

What have you got to loose. I've never had any luck using it.

Oh really? The one he plans on buying is the one in a box that's reinforced with Carbon Fiber not sure if that increases the chances of fixing.

Depends on the head gasket leak. If you have a minor leak, it may help, otherwise, not so much help.

It seems to have worked except one spot where on the left side of the engine it still spits coolant but its not alot tho so I'd say it worked except for that one spot

I wouldn't recommend that particular product. Bars makes some good stuff, don't get me wrong. But I've seen that stuff cause more problems, as it seems others have too.

Oh okay I'll remember that next time. It seems to have worked for him however there's one spot where I see it as hard to seal cause on the side of the engine it still spits coolant but not alot tho. So I'd say it worked out 99%

It still runs good as well use to the RPM would drop to near stalling point and coolant would leak from the front, behind and the side of the engine but for now its just the left side of the engine it leaks.

It's likely going to fix it long enough for you to be able to trade it in against something newer, they're not really a fix it all product.

True cause there's one spot where its hard to seal due to coolant being spitted out on the left side of the engine but it's not alot tho

There is no such thing as "permanent" in this lifetime.  You are just trying to cover up a known problem with a known solution; a new head gasket.  If you use this stuff as a temporary fix to sell the vehicle, the guilt is on you.  Sleep well!

Yeah would be nice if there was an actual such thing as a permanent sealer.
