Do I get the Battery changed at the dealer or can I do it myself?

I have a 2019 jetta r line. My battery recently died and I need a new one. Do I have to go to the dealer to have the battery changed or is it something I can do myself? I have not been able to find any videos on my model and most places say it needs to be reset by a vw specialist. Thanks for your time and reply

Yes, I would take to the dealer it maybe covered under warranty. Or you may have a draw. Any aftermarket accessories added on that could be drawing power?

If you're out of warranty, go to AutoZone, they'll install a battery purchased from them for free.

I would take it to the dealer. You can physically replace the battery yourself, but there are software settings that need to be reset with a VW scan tool.

what doc said

They'll connect a small battery to your wires first so you don't lose your settings and then put the new one in for you
