I'm looking to replace the battery for my '06 corolla CE. Are there any brands of retailers I should avoid/stick to in terms of quality?

Usually OEM are high quality if you don't mind paying.

If the OEM battery has been good, stick with that.  I would also avoid Optima (per Scotty).  I’ve personally had good luck with Interstate the last 10 years.  A tip:  always try to buy a fresh battery (check the date on it) and avoid ones that have been sitting for more than a few months (1-2 months per Scotty).   Here’s some other Scotty tips below:

Ok thanks for all the great info everyone! I appreciate your advice and time 😎

What's a good CCA value I should look for?

Check the CCA on the OEM (or like) that you’ve been using. Stick with that if it’s been working fine for you, or go a little higher from that CCA. Of course you never want to go with a lower CCA than what the OEM offered.

Ok thanks again! Will do

Go Interstate or you can go Toyota, but that’s gonna run you more money.

When buying a battery get one with a decent CCA Cold Cranking Amperage....

You might be surprised that a higher CCA battery is not that more expensive.

Good Luck.....

I usually go OEM or Interstate Battery. I've gotten Interstates at both Costco and also Interstate Battery distribution centers.

I'd just go OEM.
