How do I become a mod? Where do I send resume? I’d like to help people not get screwed over by big corporate.

I wouldn’t worry about becoming a mod - it all pays the same anyways. But seriously, just come on to this forum and answer questions. You don’t need to be a mod to do that!
Scotty might just assign it. No one knows. People become mods overnight, not me anyways. Or you could just help answer questions as a regular member, now officially a "famed member"
