What gen mustang is best as a cheap, fun, and reliable daily driver?
I'm assuming by cheap you mean less than $5000 dollars. If you are looking for anything less than $2000. Anything from 1998-2008 is within the "cheap" category. If you are hunting you might find a deal but don't expect to find one with low miles or not abused in someway. If you do find one clean af congrats. After that it all depends on preference really. If you want reliability you get less fun. If you want cheap, you lose out on reliability most of the time, if you want fun, good luck with either reliable or cheap LOL you can go v6 if you are looking for reliability and just a bit more power than your avg civic or corolla, if need more power then get a v8,
My pick would be an early 2000s GT but that's probably more miles than you want so ehh. I guess if you want v6 you get more reliability and parts will be cheaper since that outsold the GT of that year. Good luck hunting.
And if by any means you mean $10-$15k cheap get a newer gen. 2014+
Parts are pretty readily available for almost all mustangs. Maybe try to find an old fox body or one like the sn95 and just go for it. If it breaks it breaks just be prepared.
You right, I was just talking about the early 2k year specifically cause that's what I know most about and didn't want to assume about other gens lol I do agree though, just don't know what this guys definition of cheap is.
Funny but true (for me)... 69 ; )
Those old muscle cars do it for me (the look) ; )
I'm actually debating adding a 2005 Mustang V6 Convertible to my stable tomorrow.
Just for info's sake, it has 103k on it, a new water pump, and a new top. $5995 was the price, dealt down to $4500 for a straight cash deal. Just trying to determine if I should pull the trigger. And this one is a Premium, so it has leather, etc. all in pretty good shape for a 16 year old car.
New Edge GT's in CLEAN shape can be found in the $6k to $8k range. Clean V6 models usually in the $4k to $6k. Good cars. I'm only looking at the S197 style instead of the New Edge because I'm 6'8" tall and fat, so the extra room is appreciated.
