Hi Scotty. I’m looking to buy a sedan that’s reliable and fun to drive around the price range of 30k to 35k. What would you recommend?
Corolla or Civic. Civic for more fun, but also more or less reliable. Corolla for more reliability, and a little fun.
Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. You can look at the Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla (with the manual) as well, but if you need more room and comfort the Camry or Accord will be better. For longer lasting vehicle and better engineered look at the Toyota Camry or Toyota Corolla.

For $29k you can get a Toyota that goes 0-60 in 7.1 seconds, has on demand AWD and gets 54 mpg.
So as funny as that may sound, the Prius is the most fun you can have in a cheap reliable sedan(like) car
The brand new next generation Prius AWD - $28,850 msrp, now with cool styling and great performance.
Or a 2023 Toyota Camry TRD - 3.5L V6, 300 horsepower - $33,300 msrp.

Also the $21,550 Toyota Corolla 2.0L has a CVT so I would not recommend it as a "fun car" (after all, it's a small sedan with a CVT), but at 169 horsepower and a launch gear? it's pretty good.
(Scotty reviewed a Corolla Apex, and I do not think you can still get an Apex, but it's pretty much the same as the regular Corolla)
If you don't mind paying more, at $40k the Lexus IS base model is decent.
Also if you want a manual, the $29k Civic SI is decent - but I would not recommend a Honda CVT.
