What tool do you recommend to purchase for odometer adjustment.
Bought a 2000 ES 300 broken odometer digit *56750 in excellent condition for $1700
seller states it's 156750 not 256750. New tires, no tears on leather, no dents, just in really good condition all around. I had to buy it.
Going to replace the unit. Would like the scan tool for future purchases.

No tool I know of. And if you believe the seller, there is an Easter Bunny, the Moon is made of green cheese and the Covid 19 vaccine just approved by the government will eliminate Corona Virus. Here's a news flash, the care really DOES have over 200,000 miles on it.
Yea, I tend to agree with this. A well place 12 volts and that lcd/led segment can easily be intentionally fried. But ya already bought it and still a decent deal so I wouldn't worry about it (ever on any of my vehicles, unless potentially plan to sell in the future). So don't waste time/money on this issue and drive it till the wheels fall off. BTW, some store mileage in non-volatile memory of a (x)cm and can be retrieved with a good scan tool. But don't recall if this car does.
