Hey Scotty! I’m planning on buying the 2023 Honda Civic Hatchback Touring for my job because I commute a lot (almost every 70 miles a day) I want the nice interior and sound system, however it comes with a 1.5 L turbo engine. I’m planning on keeping that car for a long time but they don’t come in a 2 L naturally aspirated in that trim only in the lower trims, which engine do you recommend and what’s your opinion on both of them and can I keep either one for a long time?
Me personally, I prefer naturally aspirated as much as possible. But if you are going to get a turbo engine, Honda is probably one of the better ones.
Even before Honda added turbo’s themselves, the aftermarket community were adding turbos to some Honda Fit models, and that engine with a stock turbo is the basis for many of the newer Civics.
Well the earlier version of 1.5L turbo had oil dilution but the newer ones has been fixed and don't have oil dilution as far as I'm concerned, but if you want an engine lasts the absolute longest, get the 2.0L naturally aspirated one.
