I'm needing a bi-directional reader/scanner tool to diagnose a number of issues on my Chevy 3500 diesel dually truck one being the airbag, and the other in the state of the fuel trims on the injection systems as the engine I have the LB7 was known to require injector replacement every 120k miles. I'm a DIY'rs and occasionally, service cars for friends of friends only. I'm looking at two scanner/readers right now; the LAUNCH V431 V+ PRO 4.0 and the AUTEL Maxisys MS906 and would like to know if you had reviewed either one or if I should consider a different unit altogether. Autel makes quality scanners. They're all I use.
Scotty used the Autel MS906BT in one of his previous videos not too long away (2020). He didn’t do a preview of that particular scan tool but he used it to diagnose a customer’s car. The other tool - I don’t recall if he ever used, but it’s essentially an Autel as well. The Car WizArd also uses the MS906; you really can’t go wrong with that tool!!! Beyond that you really start to spend big $$$.

Also, If you do buy one of these expensive scan tool (the MS906BT is $1,500+ at authorized dealers), I strongly recommend you buy from one of the company’s authorized dealers if you care about support, service, and warranty afterwards, and to make sure you don’t get scammed. Say like the battery goes or you have some other issue that needs repair, then you are covered. Even if the warranty expires, you can then renew and both the hardware and software updates are covered. If you go this route, I’ve done business with AESwave.com so I recommend them.
