I have a Lexus 400H that gets a black sticky substance near the front door handles that also smears onto the back door and it's not from hands touching either area. The only thing that take it off is lemon essential oil. Have you heard of this? We are wondering where this is coming from.

You did not state the year of your car but it may be related to a problem Lexus had some years with decomposing interior plastics.
