The actuators make noise and also keep turning after the engine is shut off. Then they finally stop. Also, infrequently, the blower motor will suddenly surge in very high speed, and then go back to normal speed, without any touch of the fan controls. Is there a scan tool that can diagnose which actuator is failing? Is there a self diagnosis procedure on the climate control console that can also give me the faulty actuator that needs to be changed? Thank you. My name is Ludwig. I also grew up in Niagara Falls, Class of 1972 Bishop Duffy.
I don’t know any scan tool that can diagnose an actuator for that car. Check the switch and make sure you don’t have loose connection on the AC unit. If it checks out, put the blower fan on the highest speed and see if you still experience the issue, if so, odds are that the blower motor is acting up.
