What could cause a turn signal to blink too fast? Last week my left turn signal started about blinking twice as fast as the right one which is at the normal speed. Both the actual light and the arrow on my dash are blinking at the added speed. 2009 Ford Taurus SEL 117.5k miles. Works fine otherwise it’s just I’m curious as it’s very odd and interesting.
The usual culprits are a failing bulb or bad fuse. There could also be a wiring issue given the age of the vehicle, but I would check the bulb and fuse first.
Edit: missed the part where you said the bulb was still working (if fast).
Check for corrosion. Inside the bulb socket, on the connector, on the grounding wire connection to the body, etc.
When you set the left turn signal, how many lights/lamps/bulbs should blink outside the car?
2,3,4?
In your situation, usually one bulb is shot (as said aleady); replacing it would heal all.
so I guess I was dumb and forgot to check the back 🤣 the back blinker is busted
