Hi Scotty,
My car is Toyota Corolla with 4afe engine and manual transmission. A lot of blue smoke comes when going down the mountain. There's a little bluish smoke at the startup also. Your trusted, precious advice is required here.
Could be a bad PVC valve or clogged oil passage. If it's a small amount though it's normal.
You failed to mention age and mileage.
Blue smoke when letting off the throttle (such as going downhill) is usually worn valve guides and/or deteriorated valve stem seals.
@chucktobias Thanks
It's 2001, 1.6 (4afe) Corolla with 236121 miles. Still runs perfect.
The rubber valve stem seals are likely shot due to age. The excess oil burning will eventually destroy the catalytic converter.
and also I forgot to mention that there's oil in the intake manifold.
