Engine lacks power at low RPM

Lately i noticed the low end torque is not what i'm used to, usually it gets up and goes at low rpms, now i feel i have to give it the beans to go, and then it moves with prowess, but it's like it got seriously less flexible and kind of lacking in air at low revs

there's like no torque under 4000 rpm

It's a 3000cc, never had any problems with the engine other than usual oil changes, i change on time and put in good oil and change the filters.

This is just anecdotal. My BMW X5 at around 180,000 miles and 13 years old. It had trouble accelerating up hills. Turned out to be the cats. Changed the cats, and it ran like new. Not sure if it is the same problem as yours, but it sounds similar.

A car needs to breathe. Inhale and exhale. The blocked cats prevented it from exhaling.

Seems like a bad VANOS actuator can cause this problem, i'll check it more to depth.
