Hi Scotty Kilmer are BMW m5 manuals good cars. my ant drives one and she love's it. what do you think. are they good cars to play and use as daily driving.
If you literally have money to burn, that's the car to do it with. That car cost $150,000+ when it was new. The parts for BMW M-Series cars usually aren't interchangeable with non-M-Series cars, meaning what fits an M5 probably won't fit a 525i and vice versa, so any repairs will be extremely expensive. They are somewhat better made than the lower model cars, but only slightly, and the much more expensive M-Series parts will make this advantage mute. A lot of parts need to be pre-ordered as well, not many people can chock out that much money for a car, making parts uncommon, unless it's from a dealer. It's a sports sedan that is quite enjoyable to drive, until those dreaded BMW repair bills come. The M-Series cars are hand built in Germany, they're not mass produced on an assembly line like run-of-the-mill 328i's, etc. I would not daily drive one, unless I had an upper six figure income and didn't care about money.
The manual trans (probably made by ZF) is about the only good part of the car.
I think BMW’s are fun cars. Expensive to maintain, but super fun. I personally wouldn’t get one again because I don’t want to deal with the maintenance cost and time involved.
And the M’s even more fun and more expensive to maintain?
How many miles she have?
my ant 100.000 i think
I liked my BMW I had 20 years ago (when they were made better), I wouldn't touch one now. 2013 M5 manual, that'd be a fun ride, but better have lot's of extra $$ on hand when repairs are needed. I know several mechanics and they all call the acronym for BMW is Big Money Waste.
They can be fun to play with - no arguing that - but you are best off leasing it and returning before the warranty expires. Even then the maintenance is not cheap and needs to be done often on these finely tuned machines. You cannot skimp! Never, ever own an over-engineered German vehicle outside of (OEM) warranty and make sure you are on top of the maintenance while it’s under warranty.
It will be fun for a while but then you'll start looking like this guy...

While it's relatively young and doesn't have too much miles - why not.
After that? It's will become an endless money pit.
The manual is much better than the DCT on M5, a bit disappointing that they went with a DCT cause on M models like on the regular ZF 8HP automatic is much less troublesome.
The F10 M5 was definitely an improvement in terms of reliability over the old E60 M5(E60 M5 was pretty much the bottom of the barrel of BMW reliability with the Bangle Butt BMW 745i), but still a big money pit with all those m parts and electronics. That said I would get one with a manual since those are excellent transmissions and I am seeing them retain their value better than the automatics since it was the last M5 with a stick before the F90 M5 killed the manual (which now has the reliable ZF 8HP). One thing to watch out for with the 4.4 TT V8 is oil excessive oil consumption since it's built off the N63 engine which has been known for oil burning issues. If you want a weekend toy, sure go ahead, but daily driver, walk away.
