BMW n63 V8 engines

Hey Scotty,

You know how you say BMW makes great engines, well I have to disagree with the newer v8 engines, especially the current n63 v8 engine. I found out that they are having massive oil consumption issues burning a quart of oil every 750 miles and burning out the heads, internals of the engine, and electronics inside. This is because of the fact that they thought it was a good idea to put the two turbochargers in the v of the engine, to help reduce turbo lag, but it generated so much heat, that it lead to this problem and there have been lawsuits in recent years for this issue. These issues are found in these cars: Any BMW with the "50i" designation

Some are decent engines some are horrible. Its no secret that a BMW would be an absolute money pit.

The ONLY BMW engine I would consider is a 6 cyl.
The N52 and N52N are supposedly the best 6 cyl. engines BMW ever made.

And this is why we recommend to avoid them altogether, but if you must to lease them only - you don’t want to be caught making those repairs out of warranty.
