Morning, I have 2006 Bmw 3.25i  E90 3.0L I6 with 105k with automatic transmission . I want to ask you guys if you could help me with what would it cost to replace the timing chain/belt in my car? I’m not experiencing any issues with car but planning on keeping the car for as long as I can . Thanks for your time and help!

You have a timing chain. I wouldn't look at replacing it unless you have leaks in the timing cover or other issues that would cause you to pull the cover off and be in there already.

If you want to do it, find an independent shop for sure. The job can be done typically for around $1500-$2000 as you'll want to replace the tensioner while you are there. If you take it to a BMW dealer, no joke, you're looking at $8000 -$10000 because they'll want to pull the motor out to get at it easier.

Thank you so much !

You're welcome!

With all the details the esimate was $2826 to $3565

Since its a timing chain, there really isn't any reason to replace it at this point.

I believe my old X5 had the same Inline 6, N52 engine. No maintenance necessary for the chain itself. Mine was at 200K miles and still running strong, never touched the chain.

Agreed, no need to change a chain unless it’s been poorly maintained and chain is stretched. Keep oil changed on schedule. Myself I change oil more often than recommended schedule. Usually every 3-4k, but if your running a decent filter thats good for 10-20k and a good synthetic oil you can go 5-6k. Don’t buy into the 10k oil change hype Some of these newer oils claim.
