Do scotty know or do u have ever worked on a bmw V12 engine? A old bmw V12 from 98. Or Do someone else here know about BMWs V12 engines? Are they good or bad? Any common issues? Engine M73B54.

Although I’m not familiar with those, I’ve done some online research and expect for gas mileage, the things to look out for are oil consumption and stretched chains at high mileages.
The engine it self is quite decent, as for the rest of the car… not so much.
Something like an E31 850Ci can be a cool project car if you’re not planing to commute on it and have the extra cash to spend on maintenance and repairs.
Even the automatic gearboxes on these Aren’t that bad, you can get over 200k miles before you’ll need a rebuild/replacement with conservative-ish driving.
(I’m aware that manuals are all the rage with old BMWs, but autos are usually cheaper and on old models they’re really not bad form a reliability perspective)
