I am a full time student in college, I bought a used 2004 Honda Civic ex(Automatic) for 800 dollars, the car was not used for 8 years and all I had to change was tires, brakes, and starter, it also has a new engine. Do you think the car would be a money pit.

That really depends on how it's been treated for the last 17 years. For $800 if it's working OK now it you should be all right but dump it if something expensive goes wrong. The "new" engine (probably a used one from a junkyard) is a red flag, but once again for the price if its going down the road with no serious problems just ride that horse until it drops. Be sure to maintain it properly to get the best life out of it.
