I have a 2013 Honda civic and I got to add brake fluid. My question is can I mix it with another brand or got be honda fluid. thanks
When was the last time you had the brake fluid flushed?

As long as it meets standards for the car (DOT3, DOT4, etc.) it doesn't matter what brand it is on the can. Better find out why you need to add fluid in the first place.
Does not have to be OEM. Use fluid from an unopened bottle. Consider replacing your fluid completely with new fluid.
thanks.. What happen if I just add fluid and don't replace all of it
they are all the same
can I mix Honda fluid with another blend?

What does your owner’s manual say regarding the brake fluid replacement interval?
From the Haynes manual for your model year Civic -

For a few years I've been using DOT4 in everything, no issues. Added bonus is it doesn't devour paint.
you're thinking of DOT 5
Whoops. I thought synthetic 4 ditched that issue, good thing I treated it like 3 during clean up.
When I flushed my brake fluid in my 02 Mustang, I replaced it with Prestone DOT4. The car originally came with DOT3.
Adding on to all the gurus here. Make sure to get a brake fluid tester. It looks like a pen with 2 cows nipples. It will help determine the amount of water in your brake fluid. Also save some cash on opened bottle of brake fluid. But I guess you already know that.
