What is your opinion of the 2012 KIA Sportage AWD 2.0 GDI Turbo?

Three years ago I found a pristine 2012 KIA Sportage AWD 2.0 Turbo with 83,000 miles at a price I was willing to pay. Even then used car prices were becoming unreasonable. Almost immediately two issues arose: the turbo oil feed line failed and a rubber diaphragm failed in the brake booster. BOTH were completely covered by recall. Last year I noticed a crack in the LF coil-over so I just told them to replace both front struts. (The dealer gave me two days free on a rental to get home because it was the weekend and they did not have parts.) The car just turned over 100,000 miles last summer. I need to add 1qt. of oil every 5,000 miles. I average 27-29 mpg if I get it out on the open road regularly. I can get 36mpg on the freeway with the cruise set at 75. It has never thrown a code at me thus far. I know what you say about dealer service departments. Coughlin in Newark, Ohio has been good to me and so far has never given me any reason to not trust them. I take it to them for service every 5,000 miles. For 60 bucks they service, inspect it, rotate the tires and wash it. I think that's not too bad. (The sales dept. has tried to buy it from me twice.) So far this has been the best car to drive that I have ever had.

If they make you an irresistible offer, take them up on it..

At that mileage, I would offload it onto the market while it’s still a strong seller’s market and look into getting a better vehicle.

With the issues it has had before 100k miles, I don't think we can call it a good car. Hopefully, it will last for you without major issues.
