Hello
My wife has a 2004 toyota avalon v6 automatic. 104,000 miles. We have had it for a year and really like car. However she complains of an odd braking issue that seems to be happening more often. She states that while braking lightly or hard, if she hits a bump or rough surface she loses all braking power. She doesn't notice pedal falling to floor when this happens. She releases brake pedal and then represses pedal and they work normally. She has almost been in a rear-end collision due to this. I have tried to duplicate issue but I cannot. Brakes look and feel normal otherwise and are not making any noises. There are also no dadh lights on when this happens. Car does need an o2 sensor so service engine light stays on but car runs good otherwise.I suspect this is abs related but need help moving forward to help correct issue. Thank you for your help.
I also suspect that his ABS related so have a guy like me hook up as fancy scan tool and road test it till it acts up and they record the data and you click on all the ABS that it could be a bad connection or could be something that is expensive as a failing ABS brake module which of course is computer driven and computers get bumped. They can do all kinds of crazy things
