Scotty, friend has a 2010 Honda Civic, right tail light isn't working, she got new bulbs and I verified they are the right ones, changed it and still doesn't work, used my multi meter and has no power to the tail light socket and neither the brake nor marker light doesn't work. and the drivers side brake light and marker lights work so tells me that the fuse must be good or both brake lights wouldn't work unless each side is on different fuses??? Marker and brake light doesn't work on passenger side ,so what could it be? Broken wire, is there a relay I should look for? Thanks for all the hard work you do! Gary Taylor.

Well you need power and ground. Could be the ground wire isn't working. You need a complete circuit. That's the most common thing. Other than that remove the socket out of the turn signal assembly and check the wires to see if you have lost power and if you have you'll have to trace it all the way back to see where the wire got shorted at

unless each side is on different fuses?

I have seen some vehicles wired like this. One wiring harness per side. Pickups though.

Check for 12V on the tail light fuse. If there's power, then there's a fault in the wiring and you'll have to trace it.
