I got screwed over by used car dealer

Hi, Scotty thanks for the videos, they are amazing. Ok, I have a 2009 honda fit sport addition. I had the car for about 1 year. The second day after buying the car the check engine light came on. I took it back to the place where I brought it from the dealer and said nothing was wrong with it. That was just a sensor. Come to find out  the codes indicated it was  something with the  transmission and converter so i got a used trans, and a new converter. Well last night my car started going backwards. Should i get another transmission or junk the car.  I'm a single mother of 4 and I'm sick of going through this

You already tried a used transmission, it is a gamble. If you want to fix it correctly, you need to buy a remanufactured transmission from a reputable company. You did not mention the car mileage but if it is a higher mileage car, I would consider buying another car.

You should’ve asked for your money back, on the second day itself.. Now you’re stuck between a rock and a hard place, unfortunately.

Next time, be sure to have any used vehicle thoroughly inspected, before purchase.

All the best.

Another thing to check is the transmission warranty. Did you get any warranty on the used transmission?

Never buy used cars from the dealer - their entire profession is scamming.

car started going backwards

Are you sure you have a conventional automatic? There's a 99% probability it is.

The 5 speed in the Fit is reasonably bulletproof - very unusual for 2 to fail.

And when they start to fail usually it's jerky shifts or humming...

Is the fluid pink, clean, and doesn't have visible metal flakes, a smell, or chucks?

If so you can probably continue driving the car for a while, if safe.

Should i get another transmission or junk the car

How much would a good replacement car (like a Scion iA, Yaris, Echo (if you're ok with older lower-grade cars), etc.) cost compared to fixing the Fit?
