For a 3rd gen Tacoma with 2WD system, would I need to replace the drum brakes as well, or just the front? My front pads(maybe calipers) are going to need replacing soon, and I’m not sure whether drum brakes need to be replaced as often as regular brakes.

I would just do the front. Drum brakes are designed to last 200k miles. Some may go before that, but usually it is pretty close to that number.
