I got new brakes on all four wheels on my 2016 Honda CR-V at 82000. They have been squealing a lot now when braking, with mileage at 94000. Is the squealing normal?
What brand? Akebono/OEM is best and will not squeal. Others are not as good.
Maybe the disc guard plate is rubbing on the disc, did you put anti seize lube on all metal parts: caliper piston, caliper ears, or maybe a small stone got between the pad and disc.
When the humidity gets to the brake rotors, it results in the formation of a thin layer of rust on the rotor surface. The pads scrape off the rust as the rotors revolve. The rust is then caught up on the edges of the brake pad, and the fine rust particles cause the squeak. This can even occur on freshly changed brakes if you live in an area of high humidity. Disc Brake Quiet spray stops break squealing by dampening vibration at the caliper/brake pad interface. While providing a tighter fit and allowing for easier disassembly it also protects against corrosion. Many good brands of spray can be found online with reviews. May be a cheap option to try out!
Please specify what brand of pads did you get. Cheap pads are horrible from the get go and squeal a lot.
