in new toyota camrys or Rav4s, the computer module moved from under the passenger glove box to engine compartment behind the bumper. In a front end collision, it can easily be damaged. Should this be a reason to avoid these new toyotas?
I would say that this is a good reason to avoid these new Toyota's (Camry/Rav4) as a small fender bender could end up causing a lot in repairs and possibly total the vehicle. I would also stay away from these vehicles because they have quite a few issues with the 8 speed auto. I heard one this weekend at the store backing up and the gears ended up grinding in a 2019-2021 Toyota Rav4, just from reversing out of a parking spot.
If you have never experienced a front end accident in your life, I would buy one, if you drive really bad, I wouldn't.
Not a valid reason to not buy one or any car that has this design. Some hondas like a 2014 civic has the ECU under the hood. Not the best place to put them but the manufacturers makes sure that they are well insulated from outside elements.
