Broken front axles 4 months after being replaced

Hi Scotty & Community,

Could broken front axles be caused by a bad transmission or bad engine/transmission mounts?

6 months ago I had the front axles on the 2004 manual Pontiac Vibe with 44K miles replaced.  There was a clicking noise at slow speeds when turning.  The noise went away after they were replaced.  I drive few miles on well paved roads.  Never on dirt or off road.

The other day I was making a left turn into a parking lot.  The steering wheel was turned almost all the way because the car coming out of the parking lot was on the wrong side of the exit so I cut harder to enter to the left of him.  The car made an horrific noise and wouldn't move.  The car went into gear and I got it into the lot making quite a bit of noise/shaking and it was towed to the mechanic who did the axle replacements.  He said the axles were broken and he's replacing them again but doesn't know why they broke.

Thanks,

Mike

If axles keep breaking yes bad transmission or motor mounts do that even worn lower control arms that make the actual jostle back and forth can do that any kind of suspension problem

Thanks a lot Scotty. I'll have the mounts and suspension parts checked.
