2017 Buick Verano 58,000 km automatic
I wish to remove the cap covers on the battery so I can check the water level. They seem to be a one piece cover over all 6 cells and might be glued on. The battery is an AC Delco cat.# 0819, replacement # 48PS, date 16/09/16.

You want to check the condition of the battery right? Instead of trying to take it apart, take your car to an auto parts store and have them load test your battery. That will tell you the battery's state of health and then you can decide if you need to replace it or not.

most regular car starting batteries are non-serviceable (sealed). They are assembled with an excess of fluid so you never need to top them up.
