Topic starter
My 1996 F150, inline six with 250000 miles will not crank, manual trans. With key on check engine light and other gauges ok but when I attempt to start I hear a thump, electrical system shuts down and OBD 2 stops communicating until I unplug both battery cables for 20 to 30 mins. Reconnect battery and electrical system and OBD2 returns until I again attempt to crank starter. Please help.

well pray you just have a bad starter or a worn out battery or corroded battery terminals not making a tight connection. And then pray it's not locked up engine
