I have A 2005 Subaru Outback, new engine. Got A rubber burning Smell that happens on and off times. I thought it could be A compressor sticking pully, and the belt is slipping. What do you think? Thank Mark

I could see that, may be the AC compressor. Have you tried letting the engine idle with the hood open and looking at the pulleys as the belt goes around? Do that with the AC on & off to see if there's a difference.
