Hey scotty, I have an 05’ camry that runs fine with some rust damage but I’m in the market for a new car. I’m young 25 and would mostly use it for commuting. I’ve had my eye on the Kia Forte EX cuz I like all the tech it offers and nice styling for the price. It’s so cheap (it’s going for less than $19000 in my area) I want to buy it new. My credits very good and I was gonna borrow the money from a credit union. I did the research and they’re pretty cheap to insure too. I know how you feel about KIA’s so do you think this would be a worthwhile buy? I heard you say something about their service being bad even with the long warranty??
The other option I was looking at was a new Honda Civic. I know it’s coming out redesigned in 2022 so I wanted to find out what’s new or maybe go with an older model (2020 or 2021) if I can find a good one. I know buying new goes against all you stand for but I’m young I’ve had an 05 for awhile and I like the tech features.
P.S.
should I forget all this sedan business and just spring for a subcompact SUV with AWD or will adding snow tires be enough? I heard you mention this in a video before?
The civic will last much longer. If you want to keep the kia less then 100000 or 6 to 8 years it should not be a problem.
Don't even consider the Forte. The Civic is definitely a good choice. When the 2022 come out you should be able to get a steal on a 2021. Of the rust isn't too bad I would consider just keeping the Camry. Or, buy the Civic and keep the Camry as a backup car. A backup car reallu come in handy.
Go 2020 or 2021 Honda Civic. Don’t even think about the Kia - it’s not worth the potential headaches you might encounter. I prefer piece of mind so I recommend the Civic. Definitely avoid the first year or two of the next generation Civic (to let bugs/kinks get worked out) and just get an older one 2020/2021 and save money in the process.
civic
Get a 2021 Civic when the 2022 comes out.
No question. The Civic is the best option.
Kia and Hyundai brands are slightly getting better, but they are nowhere near as good as a civic, like others said. You could save a lot of money buying a 2-3 years old civic and the tech will be pretty much the same.
CIVIC for sure
