one of my friend is selling his 2015 chevy equinox with mileage of 123k for $4000. It has this 2 problems 1/2 intake(A) camshaft position timing-over-advanced(bank1) confirmed and 2/2 Exhaust(B) camshaft position Timing-over-advanced(Bank1) confrimed. Please could you advice me what will be the cost of fixing it and whether it will be a good buy for me. Thank you for your advice in advance.

At 123,000 miles and with GM quality poor, that is a definite No Buy.

who knows. It could be a twisted camshaft for all you know. Leave it alone.

Do you want to ruin your friendship?

Unfortunately I doubt that will be the last repair it will need. Say a kind thank you and walk away.
