- My parents are looking to buy a car for my big sister. I told them to go Toyota. And I found a 2018 Toyota Rav 4 Adventure in great condition. It has 48,515 miles on it and its priced around $18,900. And it looks like a nice, safe car for a girl. What do you think about this car, would it be a great starter car?
Have it checked out by a nice guy like Scotty, … and if he says car is good, … just buy it!
F.S.
2018 Rav4 Adventure. 2.5L 6-speed w/OD and AWD, cloth seats, plus whatever options came with it.
Good drivetrain, front seat fairly comfortable for a small/mid person, rear seats are like a wooden bench! Average cargo/carrying space for a mid SUV.
Good ground clearance, does well in a snow belt areas. Not intended for urban use, but limited off-road use in rural/maybe suburban areas, does well on unimproved roads. In an urban environment, AWD would perhaps rarely/never see use and become a maintenance issue.
Keep maintenance on schedule and it will serve you well.
For our region, price slightly below market. Is it a base/no option vehicle ? Our selling price would be in the $22,000 range.
Don't take it to a driveway "mechanic". Take it to a good, honest professional, get it checked-out and request a written condition report. Our parent new car dealership charges $55.00 USD for it.
BTW, Do you know what RAV4 stands for ?? (If you say something like "Recreational Active Vehicle w/4 Wheel Drive", you'd be right.)
Good Luck.
