07 4.0 Ranger automatic 4x4 stalls while driving (sometimes shuts off sometimes it just drops below 500 rpm), and does not make power at 5k rmp. both of these issues only happens when the vehicle is up to temperature. Throws no light but at one point had a code for a "Crank or Cam" sensor. Replaced both and the fuel filter, no improvement. No codes/lights since. Took it to a local shop and they diagnosed it as the ignition coil. Replaced Coil, wires, and plugs and did not fix the issue. Truck always restarts right away but shuts off every 15-30 seconds after. NEED HELP PLS IS UNDRIVABLE ONCE IS UP TO OPERATING TEMPERATURE
Genuine both of those codes trip it means that the timing chain is worn and needs replacing have that checked first
First, fix the timing chain.
Second, forget going to the dummy at the local shop. Maybe you talked to the janitor instead ?
