Even a Chrysler 200, would be a better choice than a Chevrolet Cobalt. The best choice for entry level two door would be the nicest Honda Civic you can afford

An entry level car with 200k miles? You should be looking for a tow truck. 😆

Just spat out my breakfast!

It's a shame, because they are attractive cars.

Buity is in the eye of the beholder...

We are talking about this right?

A corolla looks better than this in all ways in my opinion. I would fall into tears if this was my first car in the driveway.

on second thought, the cavalier was better.

Toyota is {black}:vomited:

Wow.... for me the cavalier is one of the ugliest cars there is and the 2015 corolla s looks like one of the best. Dream car is 2012 Volvo S60.

Volvo is nice. Almost anything looks better than Toyota except maybe BMW/VW/Merc

@mountainmanjoe
I am a student as long as I get a decent car that is fine but all chevy cars and suvs look ugly to me only the silverado looks good in my opinion. If it wasn't for the reliability I would have snatched up a Volvo s60 for 5 6 grand, which is an awesome deal in California but I literally have no experience so I don't know if it will be reliable. Maybe as a second car later..

ok enough we should leave this poor guy's topic alone :shutmouth:

@mountainmanjoe
Yes that is correct thx for the very relevant talk

You should be looking out for another car.

the Chevy Cobalt is a Peace of Crap Car if you want a Good 4 Door Sedan car get somthing like a Toyota Corolla or Toyota Camry or if you want a Chevy get the Chevy Caprice but never pay for a Cobalt

Here in California Cobalts go for free... and that is for a good reason... We are talking about the state where a 2002 Corolla is listed for $3500 and a 2012 Rav4 for $17500

what is the price? People in California where car prices are sky high list those things FOR FREE!!! They are piles of junk low quality cheaply made that is why people give them away in fact they would pay you to take it off your hands I could find a 91 model Corolla for 700 bucks that runs better than that Chevy I would be looking for a different car.

If you do want to buy that car, here are some common problems:

Power steering failure (basically happens to all of them)

Knocking and loose steering

Key stuck in ignition

CD player not working

Engine shuts off while driving

premature engine stalling

unintended acceleration

engine failure

slams into gear

wind noise through windshield

leaking design of windshield

brakes sticking

and much more just check this site out: https://www.carcomplaints.com/Chevrolet/Cobalt/2005/

"CARCOMPLAINTS.COM NOTES: The Cobalt was introduced to replace two of Chevy’s smaller cars, the Cavalier and Prizm. But the compact’s fresh start that Chevy was hoping for was riddled with issues, most notably widespread power steering failure.

The power steering failed so often that GM was forced to issue a recall in March, 2010. Great, but what about other problems like the key getting stuck in the ignition or all the other electrical demons this car possesses?

And, oh yes — then there’s the terribly dangerous issue where the Cobalt randomly shuts off while driving. As it turns out, that problem is related to GM’s massive 2014 recall for a dangerous ignition switch defect. A recall that eventually ballooned to 2.6 million vehicles in one of the automotive industry’s biggest scandals."

You should be looking out for an honest mechanic that does not need to sleep at night...
