Hi Scotty big fan. I am buying a gem of a Honda soon. It is a 1995 Honda Civic sedan Dx 1.5l with 63k original miles. I know the civic had the timing belt and water pump and gaskets done in the last year. I noticed transmission could shift smoother and the valves are a little louder than normal…not very loud at all. I think it had the transmission flushed in the last year. I’ve always been a fan of Lucas oil stabilizer and Lucas transmission stabilizer. Just seeing if you had any suggestions for products to use or any other maintenance that I should look into to keep it running for years and years. Thanks!!
A 26 year old vehicle with 63K miles? I seriously doubt it. How do your know the timing belt and water pump were replaced? What gaskets are you talking about? When was the last time the vales were properly adjusted? You "think" it had the trans flushed last year? Seriously? It sounds like your "gem" is quickly going to turn into and expensive turd.
Sounds like you need some milk…I grew up in the car business. My dad was a wholesaler. My life was full of car auctions. When I say Gen it’s a gem lol. I know of timing belt as well as gaskets because of calling the dealership it went through. And yes it’s 63k original 1 old lady owner. Don’t be salty. Lookin for suggestions on products not a troll. Thanks
Don't take doc too seriously. He's like that yappy dog at the entrance gate. 😆
Thanks Joe. I just hate to see people get ripped off.
Hahaha
I know. You just have a very special way of showing it. I wonder if that's how you talk to people in real life.
Probably lol
I' sure when you called the dealership about the timing belt they told you the truth. Have you considered taking the car to a qualified, independent mechanic to have it checked out?
I have the receipt as well from the owners daughter. I just called dealership in case they didn’t have it. I agree sucks when people get ripped off. They are selling it at a low price. A lot of people wouldn’t look twice at the terrible pictures they listed it with
Hope it works out well for you. By the way, if it's such a "Gem" why are you here asking for advice? Just curious.
Wow still so much salt. Gems can mean many things. You yourself couldn’t believe a 20+ year old Honda with that mileage. That my friend is a gem to me. It’s ok you don’t have to think it’s a gem. It’s not yours so congrats on bringing the negativity. I choose to live more positively. I’m asking Scotty didn’t realize it was open to everyone.
