Which truck should I buy to please the wife?

Topic starter

Hey scotty,

Love you Channel, keep up the good work!

I have a 2011 Hyundai accent with over 172K, it runs great but it's tiny for me, I'm around 6 ft 4in. My future wife wants a truck with all new bells and whistles (back up camera and screen in the car to use her apple car play) but for me, I don't care!! I want a Toyota 4 runner but I want to save on gas, the truck can be old for me. i need something with enough legroom for me and older but newer for my wife. Please help

How long do you plan to keep the truck and how many miles would you need the truck to last for?

How long do you plan on keeping your future wife?

Trucks and “save on gas” don’t mix.  Are you looking at full size trucks?  Also, what kind of bells and whistles do you/the wife want?  For long-term reliability (which will impact your pocket), I would look at the following:  Toyota Tundra and Ford F-150 (2011-2014 with Gen 1 5.0 Coyote Engine and 2015-2017 with Gen 2 5.0 Coyote Engine).  I would stay away from any Ecoboost F-150 if you plan to keep the vehicle for as long as possible and put as much mileage on it.

Toyota Tundra or even an F150 seem like the route for you just from what you typed. Listen the bells and whistles are nice for about 8 yrs if your lucky. Then they just become money problems. If you go the F150 route I’d get a 2013-17 model with the 5.0 V8 OR if you’re looking for a gas saver I’d go 2018 F150 2.7 ECO. I say 2018 or newer because that’s when the 2.7 got duel injectors instead of just being a GDI motor.

Truck and save on gas, those words just don't go hand-in-hand. Look at 2010+ 4-runners, they came with a backup camera, and for the wife's "bells & whistles", you can always add an aftermarket (better than factory) head unit to satisfy the wife's needs.

If your wife wants all the bells and whistles and luxury. Get a new king ranch f-150 with the 5.0v8. Unless your looking to buy used. In that case if your looking to get better gas mileage get a 6.7 power stroke or Cummins and get rid of the DEF or DPF stuff so you get better gas mileage
