Buying a used 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser

I’ve been contemplating about buying a used 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser which currently has 77K miles on it. It’s been slightly modified; just a paint job and - a new suspension, but the frame and everything else is original. It’s selling $18’500 USD. Is it way overpriced or is it okay. Any thing else I should know before jumping in and regretting buying this?

What in the?!

Is the frame made of 24 carat gold & the dashboard studded with diamonds?

Seems like someone had a wild night, before they put up the ad the next day..

No way in hell for $18,500!

It’s a classic 4x4.  Like all classic cars, and unlike late model cars, valuations are not determined by age and miles and only partly by condition. You might think of it as a daily driver but the buyers you are competing against are investors and hobbyists, who will look at valuations differently.

The fact is, a classic land cruiser is collectible.  That’s going to distort the price.  Nothing wrong with making what you believe is a more fair offer, but if he really wants that price and is willing to wait, he’ll probably get it.

Hard Pass. Go get a newer one for that price.

A 2007 Land Cruiser is worth about $ 18,000 (according to US News). Maybe we’re not reading your price right.

Thats multiple times the value of it, the most overpriced Toyota SUV I have seen in a while. Were you looking to find the most overpriced vehicle you could?

It seems old Land Cruisers are becoming collectables, so that very well be the market price.
