Buying a used Aston Martin as a fun car

Hi Scotty! Love your videos, keep it up! In the next year or two I would like to go after my garage queen, I am looking for a 2007-2008 Aston Martin V8 Vantage in 6 speed manual. While I know I am in for a maintenance adventure with British cars, I wanted to get your thoughts still? The price keeps climbing on them, in 2019 you could get one for $40,000 now they are going for easily +$50,000. Maybe the secret is out they are a great buy? Thank you!

Depends what your definition of "fun" is.  Remember, every funeral begins with "fun."

Haha that's funny 😅. But I mentioned in my comment that much of the maintenance I will do myself.

Those are endless money pits.  You could easily spend $10,000+ in parts and repairs.  The only way I could even recommend is if you have tens of thousands of dollars set aside just for repairs, but at that point you might as well get something else.

Unless you are quite wealthy it won't be much fun when the repairs drain your bank account.

Even if I do much of it myself?

Red pants.lol Aston Martin has tons of videos and OEM Aston Martin parts to save quite a bit of money.

They're not exactly the most straightforward vehicles to work on. However if you do your research and believe you can handle it, give one a shot and let us know how you make out!

Why not?  What's the worst that could happen?  Don't answer that.  A bit of advice;  you might want to take a few classes in automotive electronics because the English people who built this car definitely did not.  Cheers!

Lol I appreciate all of the advice! This keeps me from doing dumb things at 29 and single 😅

Never stopped me.
